 It's fascinating, but... October 6, 2008
The watch is great for moments of boredom, or for showing off to friends. It's got a beautiful skeleton set-up, with both the front and back crystals allowing for viewing of the entire movement of the watch, which is very attractive and has several of the jewels visible. The strap is also quite nice (though I've never owned a lizard strap before, so take that with a grain of salt). The gold plating is substantial and hasn't worn over time.
However, I have two big caveats. First, the other instantiations of this model (e.g., the one with the alligator strap, the black one, the one with a metal band) do not have one unattractive feature that this one does. I speak of the bizarre and garish texturing on the inner surface of the face. You can see this in the photo - it seems to be going for some sort of faux diamond look. It looks childish, like costume jewelery. The watch would be much more attractive without it, and I would have bought the alligator version for this reason if I hadn't found this watch at a really great discount. Second, the watch runs noticeably fast. I'd say it gains a minute every two or three days, which is pretty bad. Of course, it's mechanical and thus isn't going to be as reliable as a quartz watch, but this is pretty far off even for a mechanical.
Overall, I'd buy it again, but not at what it typically runs for.

I have this watch and I love it. Very high quality feeling and great looking overall. People comment on it all the time. I own many watches and this one gets worn lots more than most of my others. I have even had a guy try to buy it off of me at a diner! I felt great about that. NO..I didn't sell it to him! I just told him to check out Amazon for Invicta 9839.
Great watch for the price February 28, 2008
This is a nice looking watch for a very reasonable price. It wears well and looks sharp on. The clear case allows you to easily observe the inner workings of the manual movement. I am very happy with this purchase and have registered the watch with Invicta which increased the warranty coverage to five years.

My husband just loved this Invicta Skeleton Watch I purchased for him. I know I made the right choice and the price was right and it came in time for me to give it to him. I would recommend it to any one who is interested in a Skeleton type watch that has a rich leather band and a handsome rich look for any man's wrist.
