Amazon.com Product Description This elegant peridot necklace puts the perfect finishing touch on a simple cocktail dress. Sleek, glamorous, and seemingly extravagant, it showcases a generous ninety-six spring green peridot stones, arranged in a slender, continuous line and hinged in sections for a beautiful drape around the neck. The round 3 millimeter stones display a lively light green color and are held securely in two-prong settings of fine quality sterling silver. The necklace measures 18 inches and fastens with a box clasp and safety bar. Peridot, the birthstone for the month of August, is known for its vibrant light green color. The Romans dubbed this beautiful stone the "evening emerald," because of the way its color remained visible at night and seemed to glow in the lamplight.

Peridot August 16, 2008 This is actually prettier in real life! I love it. Excellent service, as well.
very disappointing! May 22, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This necklace was pretty enough when I took it out of the box, but it doesn't sit right on your neck. The stones turn and point down towards the ground, so all everyone sees is the side of the silver setting. Very disappointing purchase.
You'll Need a Magnifying Glass to See the Stones May 7, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Peridots in this necklace are so small and so pale, and so dominated by the comparatively bulky settings, that they can't be seen at all from more than 6" away. From any normal distance, such as standing next to someone, this simply looks like a nondescript silver chain with no stones at all, and is not especially flattering. In intense light, such as a spotlight or direct sun, it can look glittery, but one still can't see the stones, and there is no discernible color from more than a few inches away. What a disappointment: I returned it.
